Leaders of Kyiv City Administration visited Imperial Tobacco

On 29 November 2012, a working visit by the heads of Kyiv City State Administration to the Imperial Tobacco factory in Kyiv was made. Anatolii Holubchenko, Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration; Liudmyla Denysiuk, Head of the Main Department of Industrial Policy; Oleksandr Neznal, Chairman of Holosiivskyi District, and other representatives of authorities were in attendance.

As part of the programme, the guests visited tobacco and cigarette shops and the quality control laboratory.Nikolai Penner, Manufacturing Director of Imperial Tobacco Production Ukraine, took the visitors to the history of the factory, the main production processes and quality control systems. He also discussed a new large-scale project regarding the construction of a modern high-rise warehouse to house finished products.

Following this, Eugene Walsh, General Director Imperial Tobacco Ukraine, presented the tobacco market in Ukraine, including trends, development prospects and peculiarities of regulation and the excise tax policy. During the meeting special attention was paid to the problem of illegal tobacco trade in Kyiv. The parties agreed on joint actions to enhance control mechanisms to prevent the illegal trade of tobacco products in the capital.
