Memorandum on Cooperation with the State Customs Service of Ukraine

On July 15, 2011, Imperial Tobacco enterprises in Ukraine joined the Memorandum on Cooperation between the State Customs Service of Ukraine (SCSU) and the Ukrainian tobacco industry. The Memorandum provides for the integration of efforts of the SCSU and the tobacco industry to prevent illegal sales of tobacco products on the Ukrainian market.

To ensure implementation of the Memorandum’s provisions, the Parties agreed to exchange the necessary information about seizures of illicit tobacco products, expert analysis of the seized cigarettes   to determine their origin, organization of joint education and training sessions, etc. Pursuant to the provisions of the Memorandum, tobacco product manufacturers undertake a number of obligations. For instance, in cases provided for in the Memorandum, the manufacturers will provide information about the place, date of production and buyer of tobacco products.
